Important facts about ADHD

First, we will briefly state other medical situations and diseases that commonly appear among ADHD patient. A major one is the Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), which means that the child exhibits a defiant, disobedient and sometimes even hostile attitude towards authority (parents, school teachers, etc.).

Also, around 20% to 25% of ADD children meet criteria for a learning disorder (Pliszka, 2000). These are more common when there are inattention symptoms (Lamminaky et al, 1995). It is clear why this happens- if a child can't concentrate in one thing for long or stay still long enough to focus his attention on something, how can he learn complex things?

Furthermore, the child's learning memory is reduced and his problem solving skills are impaired as a result. This can undoubtedly cause a child to feel frustration and anger, as he grows up and notices that he has limited or poorer skills than other do.

Now it is time to focus our attention on the psychological aspects of the disorder and how to treat it via a psychological perspective.
